The area is also adjacent to the Asheville Country Club and Golf Course. Outsiders can also enjoy some recreational features, but obtaining a permit is advised.

Grove Park

Considered by some to be a neighborhood of ‘old money,’ Grove Park sits north of Asheville and leads up to the Grove Park Inn, one of Asheville’s most prominent landmarks and tourist attractions. The quiet area features many grand, historic houses among winding streets and sidewalks. Residents can enjoy beautiful views and excellent dining off the Inn’s Sunset Terrace, just one of the perks of investing in this upstanding area. Median sales are roughly $1.2 million. Grove Park does not include an HOA, but residents are within the city limits and are required to pay city and county taxes.

Biltmore Forest 

It’s well-known that anything that includes the name Biltmore is typically upscale. Biltmore Forest is no exception and is part of the family’s original property. Lots in the neighborhood feature large homes and excessive acreage (for city standards). Biltmore Forest is technically a town. While no HOA exists, residents pay city, county, and Biltmore Forest’s taxes. The town maintains a private police force, utilities, trash services, and the Biltmore Forest Country Club. The median sales price in 2023 was $1.8 million. Some smaller homes are available for under $1 million, though they might be older and need renovations. The neighborhood is adjacent to Hendersonville Road (Highway 25), which features many local schools, two hospitals, grocery stores, restaurants, and other businesses.

The Cliffs at Walnut Cove

The Cliffs is a one-of-a-kind gated community located 20 minutes south of Asheville with properties priced upwards of $1.4 million. This community has much to offer, but you’ll pay for it. HOA fees are $3,000 per year. This covers private road maintenance, gate security, streetlights, and trails. But wait, there’s more! For an additional fee, you can choose a social or golf membership. The golf membership, the crème de la crème of packages, will cost you an additional $90,000 when you move in, plus annual fees. However, your options are open when choosing your home and property. Choose a single-family house, condo, or vacant lot for your own build. Live in the valley, on a mountainside, or on a mountaintop. You can enjoy mountain life and still live down the road from all the necessities. The shops and restaurants of Biltmore Park are close by, as are the local grocery store, schools, offices, and more. The North Carolina Arboretum is also nearby, as is the Blue Ridge Parkway and Bent Creek Experimental Forest.
